Grant was born on June 20. 1922 in Quebec City.
He attended Westmount High School, McGill University (C.A. night courses) Sharpe Milne, Chartered Accountants, Montreal.
Grant joined the RCAF in Montreal in May, 1942.
His training was at: Manning Depot, Lachine; #5 ITS Belleville; #4 B&G School, Fingal; #9 AOS St.Johns, PQ.; #7 B&G at Paulson (4th Vector Course re: Coastal Command)
He was posted to the UK via Halifax to New York by train, trip to UK by Queen Elizebeth. June 1943 arrived in Greenock, then train to Bournemouth.
Trained in the UK at #1 (O) AFU, Wigtown, Scotland; #5 AOS, ( Ship Recognition Section) Isle of Man: Advanced Ship Recognition Flight, Scapa Flow (Orkneys); A Flight, #12 OTU Edgehill; D Flight #12 OTU Chipping Warden; conversion course, Scampton (Stirlings); #5 LFS Syerston (Lancasters).
He was posted to #619 Squadron, 5 Group at Dunholme Lodge (North of Lincoln) on Lancasters.
His aircraft was shot down over Stuttgart on July 25, 1944 (K-King)

Met June Whiting in October 1942 (former Wren RCNVR) while at ITS. Re-united overseas 1945. Married July 6 1946 in London Ontario. Three children: Linda (1948); Robert (1951), Lesley (1960). Five grandchildren; Kevan,
Laura, Sean, Jamie, Robyn. Following marriage lived in Montreal until 1957. Vancouver 1957 - 9; Islington 1959 - .

Grant met June Whiting(pictured with her arm around him) in Belleville during his training. After the war June & Grant were married and remain so today.
