Mac was born in Peterborough on May 30, 1922.
He completed Grade XIII, in Peterborough and was a drafting apprentice at CGE.
Mac enlisted in the RCAF at Toronto on August 13, 1942.
He trained at: #1 Manning Depot, Toronto; #9 SFTS Centralia(Tarmac); #1 ITS ; #1 B&G, Jarvis, #1 AOS Malton where he received his Bomb Aimer Wing on September 16, 1943.
He was posted to the UK and landed at Bournemouth on October 13, 1943.
He trained at #1 (0) AFU Wigtown, Scotland; #20 OTU Lossiemouth, Milltown & Elgin  with one crew at each station; Battle school - Acaster Malbis, Yorks; #1658 Con Unit, Riccall, Yorks.
He was posted to #158 Squadron 4 Group Bomber Command at Lissett, Yorks. Dec. 1944 - May 1945.
His crew consisted of: Pilot - Cam Gardner; WOP/AG - Stew Vernon; Nav. - Walter MacLeod; MUG - Stan McDougall; Rear AG - Ken Smith; FE - Patrick Griffin.
Most memorable ops were Cologne, Nuremburg, Wangerooge in daylight - able to see targets better (alos collisions). Had more trouble in training: my near-death experience when thrown toward open hatch during
take- off in Wellington III on April 28, 1944. Closed hatch on finger. Grounded and lost 2nd crew and 3rd crew later.
Mac was demobbed at Toronto on August 27, 1945.
He graduated from the U. of T. (OCE)1952-3 drafting teacher; Queen’s University 1958 - 71 while teaching full - time. Retired on June 30, 1982.
Married Dorothy Constable, Peterborough August 14, 1954. Two sons David and Mark.   
Have a variety of hobbies and interests-resource, kaleidoscopes, carpentry, supply teaching, Canadian Corps of Commissionaires.        January 19, 2002.
