3a)Cuthbert was replaced by Ed Dunn after 2 missions. Had several different navigators after Brownie became ill (too bad as he was a gem) not to say that his replacements were not, as each excellent. One for a short time was Foster. I am ashamed to say I can't recall the names of the others but I have snaps and hope that you can help identify them for me. Tubby was replaced by Hildebrand when his tour was up and was replaced by McCaulay. Ron Ambrose joined us as our engineer. Our last crew had only Ed Dunn and myself as Canadians plus four English lads. We only had one man in all those chaps who didn't work out. We all seemed to fit together and work as an efficient team and I believe a happy kite. |

Actually my 1st Nav. was an Aussie Sgt. (Basher White) Gil, Tubby, and Sgt. White joined me at Pennfield and we were to join a Ventura Squadron but lucky for us Vents were taken off ops just before we arrived in the UK. Apparently White got into some kind of trouble and we never saw him again. |
