Douglas was born at Stratford in England on June 16, 1918
He attended the London School of Economics and completed a B.Sc. degree and was an Assistant art publisher.
He enlisted in the RAF on August 1939 and served
as a Sgt. Clerk GD. at Calshot; posted to Caron Sask.; Carberry, Man. and received his Pilot Wing there on April 30, 1943.
He served at various Advanced Flying Units; FIS Montrose (Qualified Flying Instructor “B”: re-categorized to A2 in 1945. Then to #55 Operational Training Unit - Typhoons - Conversion.
He was on Coastal #240 Squadron (experimental). He was in Flying Training Command.
He left the service in February 1946 at London, England.
Post Service:- Production Mgr. Art Publishers, London and then in 1953 was at Sutherland
Press, St.Thomas in Canada. Regal Greetings and Gifts, Toronto as Production Mgr.; Plant Mgr.; Director of R & D.
Retired in 1983.
Douglas is married to Mollie and they have one married daughter, Madeleine, son-in-law, Ron,
and grandson Adam.
