Bill was born in Glasgow, Scotland on January 2, 1914, and had the educational level of a Junior Matriculation.
He enlisted in Toronto in June 1941. He was at #1 Manning Depot at Toronto, then on to #1 Technical Training Unit at St. Thomas. Next # 1 ITS, Toronto and #1 AOS, Malton and he graduated with a Navigator’s Wing on December 30, 1942.
He was posted to #3 PRC, Bournemouth Feb 14,1943 then Liason Army (Cdn) - 3 weeks, Little Hampton (Public relatios) and then took Commando course with RAF Regiment in Feb.1943.
Pre-OTU, Navigation training - Ansty near Coventry; #20 OTU Lossiemouth (Crewed up - flew Wellington’s; HCU, Marston Moor - converted to Halifax II.
Posted to 158 Squadron 4 Bomber Command stationed at Lissett on March 3, 1943 we were flying Halifax’s III. Crew consisted of F/O Ed Carlson (Pilot, RCAF) (2nd dickie trip (POW) BA F/O R Boucher RCAF K.I.A. Feb/45.

Demobbed at Toronto November 2, 1945 - transferred to D.V.A., Christie St. till July 7, 1946. Returned to work and the plant went on strike and on paid holiday until November 17, 1947.
Employed by former employer till 1964. Then joined the Department of Labour till retirement in January, 1979.
Married wife, Dode in September 1936 - Deceased 1986.
