Colin was born on October 14,1919 at Wallasey, Cheshire, England. He had served in the O.T.C.
He enlisted in the RCAF at Toronto in June, 1940. He served at #1 Manning Depot, Toronto; #1 ITS Toronto;
#1 AOS, Toronto; #1 B&G, Jarvis; #1 AstroNav, Rivers, Man. where he received his Observer Wing, Feb./1941.
He was posted to the UK in April 1941. He did his OTU at Upper Heyford.
He was posted to 408 Squadron on Hampdens in 5 Group, Bomber Command at Scrampton (Lincs).
His crew on ops: Pilot - P/O Bill Houghton; WOP - P/O Bill Bishop; WAP/AG - F/SGT - Jock Gallon;
Nav/BA - P/O J.C. Monkhouse.
Ran out of gas. Ditched in the North Sea - 13 1/2 hours in dinghy.
Over Holland - searchlight belt. Night fighter (110). Bill Houghton landed in field near Venlo. No motors operating on the Hampden.

Colin was demobbed at Toronto on September 1945.
His business career was the Lumber Retailing Business.
He was married in February 27, 1941 to Betty. They had 2 girls Aug 1946 and May 1948.
Wife died in 1986. November 30/2001
